I’ve been using my little Bosch IXO ( the original mark 1) for 16 years now, and it’s still working great. Very good for screwing together flat pack furniture/ racking, car underbody trays, car door panels, bumpers etc. I may replace it with another IXO, if it ever breaks.

I’m clearly slow to the party ! Interesting video though. I’m actually working out how to connect a zoom f1 and senhesier ek100 together (for my dad a long story!) so am not familiar with the zoom - and don’t have it handy to try stuff, wondering if I can use my Senheiser radio lav system (like you’re got there - an ek100 g3) use the Senheiser remotely - and connect the Senheiser receiver into the line in of the zoom. I’m head scratching as to what cable I need- if I can get one off the shelf with the right screw locks. And in anticipation understand what happens when recording via line in - presumably ideally I’d have a cable that connects left and right of the input of the f1 to the Senheiser output to create a mono same left and right recording … if you want to monitor the lav recording from the f1, through earphones and get the sound coming to both ears whilst monitoring from the f1 …

It might be able to, since the sennheiser (even for xlr) has a jack output first to a jack/xlr converter. As for finding a cable with both ends jack and that are screw type, i don't know. Might be a bt of a challenge

I'm pretty sure "full spectrum" as it is used here is a marketing gimmick term. You can't get full spectrum from a single color temperature. And, unless this COB is magic, you can't put two different color temperatures in the same COB driver without two different COB modules. "Full spectrum" is a marketing term that China uses to try and sell products to marijuana farmers. I'd be happy to hear your explanation for why you used the term "full spectrum" here, and if you can prove me wrong, I'll happily admit it. But i own one of these LEDs, and there is nothing 'full spectrum' about it. Please try to avoid parroting generic meaningless marketing terms, because then all you're doing is 1) confusing \ misleading noobs 2) helping China sell products with incorrect applications \ functions to people who don't know any better

Are you still using this 2 years later? I see a lot of good reviews on it an it doesnt seem to bad as long as you take care of it an get new tips

Hi, I bought one of these about 6 months ago to be able to reflow SMD components. Thanks for the video, it’s a good honest review and it looks like I made a decent choice. I’ve been soldering through hole for 30+ years but am new to SMD. What would you recommend as a basic setting for temperature and fan speed? New subscriber, looking forward to watching some of your other videos.

Thanks for your comment. It's difficult to say since it depends on the soldering paste used. I tend to do 30-40 celsius over what the paste makers recommend due to losses in free air, etc. But I always pre-heat the general area by blowing hot air from a distance and also, if you can, cover parts you don't want to reflow using nylon tape (Kapton as example).

This is all just a scam since the hack depends on the version of firmware but it is never available for current versions of the firmware that anyone actually has! It's just a scheme to sell more scopes by releasing rumors and fake videos saying they can be hacked but then after buying it you will find the mythical hack is never actually available!

The old IXO models were much better than the last few. Moving the direction toggle onto the top is a dealbreaker, having to change hand position is incredibly annoying - e.g. if you are fine tuning something like a door hinge with numerous direction changes needed, the on top design is incredibly frustrating.

Still works in Feb. 2023. The latest firmware is from 2021 so this will still work on any 1054Z made at least until they update the firmware again. As others have said, scopes from around 2020 onward have all the trial options shown here included free. You now only need the DSEA option (the 500uV option is not hardware-supported so no point having it as it could cause problems).
